Experience nature in Berchtesgadener Land

The only German Alpine National Park also represents the core and maintenance zone of the biosphere region surrounding it.

While nature in the national park can develop free of human influence, in the development zone of the biosphere region the focus is on man as the most important landscape designer, who should live and manage in harmony with nature. Thus, the protection of wilderness and the promotion of sustainable development are united in this unique natural and cultural landscape. So that you can experience this fascinating nature in the Berchtesgadener Land even more intensively, we offer you numerous events with this program, which will give you deep and exciting insights into nature. Get to know the "Wilderness in the Eisbach Valley" with us or hike with the ranger over the world-famous peninsula on St. Bartholomä as well as into the Wimbach Valley, which is characterized by natural dynamics. Or experience the special features of the pre-alpine mountain landscape "On the way by bike". The special-purpose association Bergerlebnis Berchtesgaden complements the program with numerous convivial tours in special places in the district.

Also visit our national park information center, the "Haus der Berge", on the outskirts of Berchtesgaden, where you can get more information about the national park and the biosphere region.

We look forward to your visit and wish you a pleasant stay in the Berchtesgadener Land!

Your Berchtesgaden National Park Authority, the administrative office of the Berchtesgadener Land Biosphere Region and the Berchtesgaden Mountain Experience Special Purpose Association.
