Objectives of the national park research

According to § 6 of the National Park Ordinance, the observation and study of nature is a central goal of the Berchtesgaden National Park. In particular, the national park serves as a reference area and learning site for natural and largely uninfluenced by humans ecosystem dynamics in the mountains. Research and monitoring in the national park are carried out in close cooperation with university research and are embedded in Bavarian, national and international initiatives.
